A veteran teacher, Erica Chase-Salerno has taught French for over fifteen years in public and private schools, and has experience interpreting, translating, and tutoring. She has traveled extensively around the world, including francophone countries France and Haiti, and uses everyday items, photos, books, and music brought home from those trips with her students.
Erica believes in the value of speaking a second (or a third...or a fourth...) language and enjoys teaching about French and French culture. Her unique and energized approach to education offers new and fresh opportunities for learning. Lessons are customized to each student's learning style, and she is committed to hands-on, student-led learning.
Erica is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz with a BA and MA in French and Secondary Education and holds NYS permanent certifications in French and Spanish. She resides in New Paltz with her husband, son, and daughter.
